Terms and Conditions Not Written on the Check

Detailed analysis of the records considered invalid if written on a check in accordance with the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102 and their legal consequences.

Turkish Commercial Code (TTK) art. According to Article 779, some terms and conditions written on the check are deemed not written. The legislator prohibited the writing of certain records in order to protect the nature of the check as a means of payment.

Statements to the contrary do not completely invalidate the check; only the relevant record is considered unwritten.
